Residential | Private | 5000 sq ft
Location: Alibag, Maharashtra
The home is designed to have a raw, modern aesthetic with light coming from the ceiling through playful skylights of varying shapes. Their shifting light patterns animate the interiors, creating a dynamic play of patches and shadows across the home.
The three bedrooms project out of the central living areas like three fingers, taking the rooms into planted groves surrounding this home. This opens the spaces up to tons of natural light, ventilation, an experience of living in the forest and enhanced privacy.
The flooring is crafted as a large artwork, using recycled stone off-cuts cast into concrete terrazzo. They resemble army of ants marching across the floor following the route of movement around the home.
Black Kadappa, white marble, and pink marble appear in different zones, each lending a distinct texture and rhythm. In bedrooms and bathrooms, small broken tile chips are set in cement, catching sunlight and brightening the spaces with subtle reflections.
